Where the Parvati river meets the quartz veins.
Manikaran sits deep in the Parvati Valley of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, in country locals call the Valley of the Gods. The quartz here forms high on the slopes in veins that machines cannot reach, so it has always been mined by hand.
Our family began working these veins in 1975. Today the third generation runs Crystalhood, still mining, cleaning and grading every crystal ourselves before it is offered to crystal shops across the world.
